Kazakh Secretary of State took part in meeting of Academic Council
The ceremonial meeting has been attended by the representatives of the state bodies, diplomatic corps, science and education, prominent public figures, rectors of Kazakhstani and foreign universities, university graduates, students and the mass media.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Secretary of State has announced the welcome speech of the Head of State, who noted that the university, created in 1996 by the Special Decree, has become one of the leaders among the domestic universities and become a spiritual and intellectual center of Astana. The President of Kazakhstan expressed hope that Eurasian National University will continue to be one of the most important scientific and educational institutions for the training of qualified personnel for the implementation of a nationwide patriotic idea "Mangilik El".
Nowadays Eurasian National University is the real embodiment of the idea of Eurasianism, the university of the future, which cooperates with 258 foreign universities in Europe, Asia, America and various research centers, foreign embassies, international educational funds.
Currently, more than 16 thousand students in 168 specialties of the multi-level training study at the university. In 2000 Kazakhstani branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University was created on the basis of ENU at the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
