Full recovery of Kyzylagash reservoir to be started in 2014 in Almaty region- A. Musakhanov

In 2014 it is planned to start full recovery of Kyzylagash reservoir in Almaty region, Head of Almaty region Ansar Musakhanov told at the press conference of the CCS.
"Irrigation permissible area of Kyzylagash dam amounts to 1,700 hectares. To date, the reservoir water is not supplied, because we have filed an application and all documentation to the Water Committee. Now the case is under the national balance sheet. It is planned to start full recovery of Kyzylagash reservoir in 2014,” A. Musakhanov said.
The Kyzylagash dam failure occurred in a dam located outside the village of Kyzylagash, Almaty region. It is caused shortage of irrigation water, as a result, farmers had to reduce the cultivation areas five times.
