N.Nazarbayev visited Palace of Sports ‘Taraz-Arena’

During the visit President has familiarized with unique complex, and talked with sportsmen wishing them good luck and new victories.

The five-storey building includes all sports facilities. More than 2,500 young sportsmen will be trained in 18 sports at the same time. There are 13 sports halls, including basketball, volleyball, handball, indoor soccer, boxing, Greco -Roman and freestyle wrestling, judo and sambo, taekwondo, weightlifting and table tennis.

Palace can host sports events of regional, national and international importance at professional level.

Construction work of a sports complex was started in 2011. More than 35 subcontracting companies, 360 local employees were involved in the construction. The cost of the project amounted to 4.8 billion tenge.
