CEC: More than 3K candidates to be elected in maslikhats of all levels of Kazakhstan

"During the elections in March 3335 deputies of the maslikhats of all levels will be elected, including 550 regional deputies, Astana and Almaty maslikhats, 2160 district deputies, 625 city maslikhats. According to the schedule of the main events on preparation and holding of the elections of the deputies of the maslikhats of Kazakhstan on 23 February 2016 the registration of candidates to the maslikhats completed. The district election commissions registered 10 825 candidates for deputies of maslikhats of all levels. Thus, the average competitiveness is three candidates for one deputy mandate", M. Sarsembayev has informed.
Of them, 1592 candidates account for the regional maslikhats, 121 - for the maslikhat of Astana, 130 candidates – for Almaty’s maslikhat.
“6862 candidates in the regional maslikhats, 2120 candidates in the city maslikhats have been registered, the political parties nominated 3407 people, public associations - 17 candidates in the maslikhats, 7401 candidates are self-nominated”, the member of the CEC informed.
It is noted that the electoral activity of Kazakhstani people has been increased significantly.
