3 quarters of 2019 seen LMSBs’ products and services amounting to over 9tln tenge
56% of large and medium-sized businesses’ total production falls on three regions: oil-producing Atyrau region and both capitals, Finprom.kz informs.
Over the three quarters of this year, the amount of products produced and services rendered by large and medium-sized enterprises has amounted to 9.2 trillion tenge, 5.7% more than in the same period last year (8.7 trillion tenge), making up 20.7% of the GDP for the first nine months of this year.
The largest volume of production in the sector by region is in Atyrau region: 1.9 trillion tenge, or 20.7% of the total amount. Also, the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan are included in the top three regions: 1.7 trillion and 1.5 trillion tenge, respectively. The key three regions represent 55.9% of the country's output.
At the end of November this year, 2.3 thousand large and 6 thousand medium-sized companies operate in Kazakhstan.
Large and medium-sized companies in the mining industry traditionally account for the largest volume of products and services in the sector: 2.4 trillion tenge, or 26% of the total volume. At the same time, over the year the amount decreased by 7.6%.
Meanwhile, in the manufacturing industry, the indicator amounted to 2.1 trillion tenge, an increase of 22.6% than in the corresponding period a year earlier (1.7 trillion tenge). The industry share increased from 19.8% in 2018 to 23% in 2019.
Transport and storage is the third biggest sector in terms of production with 1.2 trillion tenge, or 13.5% of the total. TOP-5 also includes construction (1.1 trillion tenge) and wholesale and retail trade (657.8 billion tenge).
