2K citizens of Uzbekistan punished for violation of migration legislation
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Uzbek colleagues held the first joint preventive campaign “Illegal”, the Committee on Migration Service reports.
More than 2,000 citizens of Uzbekistan were brought to administrative responsibility for violation of the rules of stay in Kazakhstan. Duration of stay was reduced for 427 citizens; 186 citizens of Uzbekistan were kicked out of the country. 3 persons wanted by Uzbekistan for criminal offenses were detained.
The joint operation was carried out with the aim of preventing violations of migration legislation by Uzbek citizens, assisting in the voluntary return of citizens to the country of origin, suppressing channels of illegal migration and establishing those wanted.
In just 4 days of operation, 56 employers were brought to administrative responsibility for violating the rules for attracting and using foreign labor. 218 foreigners without identification documents were settled in the reception centers. 6 criminal cases were instituted for violation of the migration law.
In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan initiated requests for voluntary return by readmission in relation to 83 citizens of Uzbekistan. All readmitted persons were issued certificates of return.
The Kazakhstan side created conditions for solving joint problems, providing legal assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan, provided buses for transporting foreigners to the border, and escorted by special vehicles.
In turn, the Uzbek colleagues created a Headquarters in Uzbekistan to timely address the issues of their citizens. Throughout the operation, active work was carried out by employees of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan.
The Uzbek colleagues got acquainted with the activities of the centers of migration services, directly in the reception centers of the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent, provided advice to the people in them.
At the end of the operation, the Uzbek side expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan for assistance in resolving issues aimed at protecting the interests of their citizens.
The parties agreed to conduct such operations on a regular basis.
