Foreign Ministry designated key points for further foreign policy

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ye.Idrissov held a working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry, the Ministry reports.

Firstly the Minister congratulated all the members on the victory of N.A.Nazarbayev in the elections and, of course, expressed his gratitude to foreign observers. Ye.Idrissov stressed that Kazakhstan worked, works and will work with international organizations and partners, and emphasized that we are ready to contribute to the further strengthening of democratic traditions and values ​​in our society.

The Minister noted the most important field of ​​public policy - the implementation of five institutional reforms announced by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, Ye.Idrissov instructed diplomatic service of Kazakhstan to render all possible assistance in this process. Particularly he stressed the the creation of a highly professional government, strengthening of the principles of meritocracy, strengthening of the rule of law, and others. The Minister also outlined the specific tasks to further foreign policy in terms of the program "Nurly Zhol - path to future".

The meeting also considered the schedule of the country's upcoming international events in bilateral and multilateral formats, key foreign policy priorities, including promotion of Kazakhstan in the UN Security Council for 2017-2018, the development of initiatives in the official development assistance, the establishment of the Islamic Organization for Food Security of the OIC, headquartered in Astana and the hub of the regional UN diplomacy in Almaty, and major events scheduled in Kazakhstan - the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the Astana Economic Forum and the International Media Seminar on Peace United Nations in the Middle East.
