17th sitting of Commission on Issues of Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction held in Nur-Sultan
The 17th sitting of the Commission under the President of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, was held in Nur-Sultan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
The agenda of the Commission meeting included issues on the implementation of global antinuclear and other foreign policy initiatives of First President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, strengthening the country's nuclear and biological security, as well as strengthening the export control system and interaction with the international community.
The launch of the IAEA Low Enriched Uranium Bank in Kazakhstan and the training of relevant specialists are under the Commission’s control, as well.
Heads of ministries and departments participating in the meeting of the Commission informed about the progress in fulfilling the instructions that were given in the previous period.
