USAID to support development of NGOs of Pavlodar region

During the meeting with Regional Mission Director of the US Agency for International Development for Central Asia Jonathan Eddlton Governor of Pavlodar region Kanat Bozumbayev noted the importance of USAID activity, contributing to the formation of a strong civil society.

"Nowadays the activity of the non-governmental organizations engaged in supporting the youth policy, education, health and a healthy lifestyle, ecology and environmental protection, protection of rights and legal assistance, working with elderly people and invalids, gender policy, development of culture and others is very topical. Currently, more than 660 NGOs of different directions are registered in the region", the governor said.

In turn, the head of the Mission USAID stressed the readiness of the US side on further supporting the development of non-governmental organizations of the region, the Governor's office informed.

In addition, Eddlton will meet with the young people, entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs and other civil society institutions in order to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation.
