16 digital peasant farms and 6 smart farms appeared in Kazakhstan in 2019 - Agriculture Ministry
At the yearend, 16 peasant farms have become “digital”, and 6 smart farms have appeared in animal husbandry, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan is included in the implementation of the “Digital Kazakhstan” state program in terms of organizing the introduction of automated systems in country's agricultural sector. Due to modern digital technologies, the Ministry plans to increase labor productivity, as well as the profitability and competitiveness of agricultural enterprises.
In 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture continued to ensure interaction between farmers and IT communities. At the end of the year, additional 16 farms in crop production reached a “digital” level, 6 smart-farms appeared in livestock farming.
It should be reminded that in 2018, 12 peasant farms and 3 poultry farms received digital status, another 12 livestock farms became smart farms. Thus, the total number of Kazakhstani agricultural enterprises, where production is automated using computer systems, has reached 49.
