Kashagan's maximum production to make 1,5 million barrels per day: Oil and Gas Minister

17 September, 2013 19:21
The maximum volume of oil production on Kashagan field will make 1,5 million barrels per day, the minister of oil and gas Uzakbai Karabalin said in a government lobby.

According to him, commercial production on a field is already begun without preliminary tests and exercises.

"Another thing is to approve all systems, it (Kashagan) doesn't go at once on the maximum volumes. But oil which is extracted today, goes on accumulation for export," the head of department explained.

"1,5 million barrels per day is a maximum volume level of production if preliminary forecasts and field development plans are approved,” U.Karabalin said.

As for transportation, according to the minister, each partner of consortium "advises itself".

"Who has quotas of CPC, have good chances of receiving big money, they go on CPC. The part who does not have no quota on CPC – we have rather quite good volumes on traditional system of export on Atyrau-Samara. Also we open the new direction to China therefore it also will be actively used," Karabalin said.
