Int'l bike ride 'medical campaign against nuclear weapon' arrived in Astana

Participants of international bike ride “We are for disarmament, nuclear-free world and common health” arrived in Astana city. The aim of the bike ride is to attract world community to fighting with nuclear weapon and its testing, the Astana Mayor’s Office reported.
The bike ride started August 14, 2014 from Semey, ran via the former Semipalatinsk nuclear test site territory and in Pavlodar, the movement’s activists took part in a peaceful demonstration and met with the medical professionals.
19 medical representatives and students of Austria, Germany, USA, Estonia, India, Kenya, Nepal and Kazakhstan took part in the bike ride.
Medical Campaign Against Nuclear Weapons was formed in 1980, as a campaigning group specifically working for nuclear disarmament.
