Above 1mln kids to be covered with preschool education by 2020 - Sarinzhipov
"We expect that by 2020 almost all children aged 3 to 6 will be covered with preschool education. This is more than 1 million children," the Ministry of Education and Science noted.
According to him, the number of preschool education institutions is growing in Kazakhstan. Last year, their number exceeded the level of 1990 and counted 9148 facilities for 700 thousand children.
Today, 73% of children aged 3 to 6 are covered with preschool education.
"This is a good indicator. As for preschool education coverage, Kazakhstan today is equal with such countries as Australia, Canada, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, and so on. Moreover, memorandums to expand the network of preschool institution have signed with heads of the regions. The number of private organizations in recent years has increased more than five times. Their share increased from 5 to 12%," A. Sarinzhipov said.
"Balapan" Program is integrated into the state program of education development by 2020. This will help put into service additional 4 thousand preschool education institutions for more than half a million children," Mr. Sarinzhipov emphasized.
