Almaty implements strategy of innovation development of education

“A strategy of innovation development of education is realized successfully in Almaty,” Mayor of the city Akhmetizhan Yessimov informed at a plenary meeting of August session of with participation of Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov.

According to Yessimov the strategy is oriented at improving the quality of education of students.

Financial resources allocated from the city budget for the development of education grow annually. Thus, over the past 5 years funds have increased almost twice - from 25 to 47 billion tenge, which is one third of the total budget, aimed at the social sphere.

According to the Almaty Mayor all these measures bear fruits. So during the nine years, team of Almaty has won first team places in the republican Olympiad and 12th time took the first place in the republican scientific competitions. Pupils of Almaty schools have won 277 prizes in international competitions and academic competitions. Also this year, according to the results of UNT Almaty average score of the city was 93.41, which is 16.5 points above the average for the country.

A new school for 1200 seats is expected to be put in commission in Zhas Kanat district in 2014. Besides, not less than eight schools will be constructed in the city,” Akhmetzhan Yessimov concluded.
