Potato acreage increased 22 times, vegetables -8 times over two years, the Governor Office of Atyrau region informed.
The area planted with drip irrigation has also increased 3-fold in the next year it will reach 1 500 hectares.
"In practice, if one hectare of irrigated land in the traditional way farmers receive 10-12 tons of potatoes, something from the ground, which uses drip irrigation, 40-50 tons, and onion harvest increases from 25 to 80-100 tons," the report reads.
