Kazakhstani population increased by 124.1 thousand year-to-date
The country's population as of 1 July 2014 amounted to 17 284.9 thousand persons, including urban - 9 523.1 thousand. (55.1%), rural - 7 761.8 thousand persons (44.9%).
Following the processing of vital records, the number of births in January-June 2014 amounted to 193.3 (188.6) thousand people, which is 4.7 thousand persons or 2.5% more than in January-June 2013. Crude birth rate per 1000 people was 22.55 (22.34) of born people.
The number of deaths was 66.9 (70.4) thousand people, which is 3.5 thousand persons or 5% less than in January-June 2013. Crude death rate per 1,000 people was 7.80 (8.34) of the dead.
The natural increase of the population of the republic in January-June 2014 increased by 8.2 thousand persons or 6.9% to 126.4 (118.2) thousand persons compared to January-June 2013. Natural increase per 1,000 population was 14.75 (14.00) people.
