Introduction of dual education in Kazakhstan will enhance prestige of blue-collar work, head of the department of economic research of Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Research Bela Syrlybayeva said at the media briefing in the CCS today.
“There is a deficit of qualified workers in the labor market now, it means special emphasis should be placed on the development of vocational education and training. During the soviet period, we had a good education system. Unfortunately, during the independence period, our education system was focused on the development of higher education, although the modern labor market has a deficit of workers. Dual education system is one of the world’s best systems which is widely applied in European countries,” she said.
According to her, this system implies that 20-30% of the study time students spend in the institutions, and 70% takes practice at enterprises.
