UNICEF expert visited Semey Juvenile Court

UNICEF experts realize a project to assess the Kazakh model of juvenile courts, documenting their development, results as a part of cooperation between the Supreme Court and the Office of Children's Fund, the United Nations (UNICEF).

National expert D.Zhakaev visited specialized interregional juvenile court #2  of East Kazakhstan region with the purpose of planned trial monitoring, data collection, interviews in the courts, in order to document and analyze the data. 

During the visit, an expert familiarized with the material and technical equipment of the court, had a conversation with the Chairman of Justices and judges. In the future, the expert will participate in the trials, except for a closed hearing in civil and criminal matters.

It should be noted, the  results of UNICEF experts in the form of reviews will be presented at the international conference: "20 Years of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Kazakhstan: the access of children and families to justice", organized by the Kazakh Supreme Court of together with UNICEF in October this year in Astana.
