Kazakhstan makes top three developed countries on milk consumption per capita
“Unfortunately import of milk products increased in 2013 compared with 2012 year. According to the production statistics, it is Ok: Kazakhstan produces 5 million 500 thousand tons of milk and due to this indicator the country makes the top three developed countries on milk consumption per capita. Unfortunately only the fourth part of this quantity is processed,” I. Sauer noted.
Along with this, the speaker stressed the establishment of cooperation will assist milk production perspective development in the country.
The President always reminds us the cooperation is the necessary process in milk and meat production as well. As the milk that is produced in small enterprises goes to animal feed. This is unusual, it is very expensive food, it's wrong," Mr. Sauer explained
Besides, the head of Meat and Milk Union added Kazakhstani partners imported about 70 percent of products and raw materials for milk products.
"Our largest companies, our Western partners import a huge amount of product, the raw material for our dairy products, for example in the form of skim milk powder, and then it is processed and offered to our customers. Today, according to official statistics, we are importing up to 70%, it is absolutely wrong, the co-operation is needed uniquely,” he concluded.
