Kazakhstan and Japan to develop investment cooperation

Minister of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev held a meeting with Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi in Astana.

According to the authority, the sides noted the importance of bilateral trade economic cooperation widening in the light of direct investments attraction comprehensive plan’ s realization in Kazakhstan.

The ministers also supported renovation of the Roadmap on strengthening of economic investment  relations, developed by the Kazakh-Japan Joint Commission involving the public and private sectors.

In addition the participants of the meeting agreed on signing of Agreement on liberalization, promotion and protection of investments between Kazakhstan and Japan.

Besides, the sides are ready to develop technological development through projects realization in engineering, logistics and etc.

It should be noted the perspectives of the investment cooperation, new directions and joint projects of the two countries will be discussed during the V session of the Kazakh-Japan Joint Commission involving the public and private sectors which is set to be held in this October in Astana. About 100 representatives of business circles of Japan are expected to attend the meeting.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Japan amounted 1.7 billion dollars in 2013. Japan direct investments’ gross inflow had exceeded 5.5 billion dollars since the Kazakhstan’s  independence.
