Antimonopoly authority functions nominally
7 August, 2014 11:34
Chairperson of the Agency for competition protection Galym Orazbakov held a teleconference meeting with participation of heads of antimonopoly inspections.
Galym Orazbakov has informed the Agency for Protection of Competition was reorganized to the Competition Protection Committee (Committee) which will join the established Ministry of National Economy.
Thus, a structure of the new Committee will be approved in the near future. The Committee will continue to perform the basic functions of the antimonopoly agency – antimonopoly investigations, analyses of trade markets and etc.
A slight reduction in the number of employees of the antimonopoly body will occur as part of the reorganization, according to azk.gov.kz
Thus, the competition authority (central office and antitrust inspection areas) continues to function nominally.
