Rescuers saved over 770 lifes over six months Bozhko

“Personnel of water rescue services have saved lives of more than 770 people including 150 children since the begging of the year,” Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Bozhko said at the press conference in the Central Communications Service today.
"Since the beginning of this year, rescuers saved 772 people (including 159 children). An inventory of more than 11,000 reservoirs of the country was taken, 480 recreation areas, suitable for swimming were defined,” the Minister said.
According to Bozhko 50 additional posts were established in hazardous and non-protected areas of reservoirs where specially trained people work.
In addition, he said, rescuers hold swim lessons for children. Lessons with more than 25 thousand children, including three thousand children from the orphanage have been held over the past two years.
