Astana to host 1st interregional council of the National Commission for UNESCO
The 1st interregional council of the National Commission for UNESCO will bring together representatives of National Commissions of 130 world countries- the UNESCO five regional groups including the Arab States, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Ocean, Europe and North America, Latin America and the Caribbean region, the department specified.
Head of the Ministry of Culture said the meeting will attract initiatives of other countries.
"The Kazakh side will cover only room hire, transport and domestic spending. Delegates arrive at their own expense," he added.
Representatives of international partner organizations UNESCO-Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) and The International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY will sit in on the congress.
The Kazakh delegation will include members of the National Commission for UNESCO and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), heads of key ministries and departments, heads of acting national committees under the National Commission, departments, clubs and UNESCO Associated Schools, and a number of prominent scientists and artists.
