Workshop on Kazakhstan’s investment climate improvement held in Canada
The event held in the format of “round table” was attended by the representatives of the Federal Government and Parliament of Canada, business community of the province of Quebec, including the world’s leading aerospace and transportation company “Bombardier”, engineering and construction companies “Honco”, “CSBI Inc.”, “Hason Steel”, investment-consulting groups “Desjardins Securities”, “Salveo” etc.
During the interactive dialogue, the participants noted the growing importance of Kazakhstan as an important player on the market of the Eurasian Economic Union that is being created nowadays and they welcomed the initiative of the Kazakhstan’s side to introduce a new package of preferences for investors, including facilitation of the visa regime for the largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan.
In particular, the representatives of “Bombardier” expressed their gratitude to Kazakhstan’s side for assistance in efficient resolving the issues related to starting a project of creation of a new airline company “Air Kazakhstan”. The leadership of “Terragon Environmental Technologies Inc.” that is specializing in development and commercialization of innovative and advanced technologies in the area of waste management noted the importance and need for support in finding appropriate partners in Kazakhstan.
As a result of the business seminar, it was agreed to continue the dialogue and joint preparations for arranging of a number of business missions of the Canadian companies to our country, including through their participation in the exhibitions “KazBuild” (Almaty, September 2-5), “Mining World Central Asia” (Almaty, 17-19 September), “KIOGE” (Almaty, 30 September – 3 October). A number of the companies interested in expanding business ties with Kazakhstan from the provinces of Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia have already confirmed their participation in the indicated missions, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informed.
