Kazakhstan & Mauritius tending to cooperate

Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius Arvin Boolell, during which the sides discussed prospects for the establishment and development of bilateral diplomatic relations.

A.Boolell, initiator of the conversation, noted Kazakhstan is recognizable in Africa, primarily due to its position in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament. According to him, Mauritius is interested in developing relations with Kazakhstan, in connection with which Mauritius Ambassador to Russia was appointed to represent the country in Kazakhstan concurrently, the Kazakh MFA reports.

In turn, Mr. Idrisov said Kazakhstan is interested in expanding of political and economic ties with African countries. The Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs informed on the Kazakh Embassy functioning in Pretoria since last year, which will also represent Kazakhstan in Mauritius concurrently. Minister suggested the signing of the communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations for the formal registration of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
