Kazakhstan targets to take 4th place in 17th Asian Games

“Kazakhstan intends to take the 4th place in the team event at the upcoming 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea this autumn,” Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Sports and Physical Culture Ilsiyar Kanagatov announced at the meeting of the agency staff on Friday.
“13 thousand athletes from 45 countries will participate in the 17th Asian Games. 7 thousand representatives of mass media will cover events,” he noted.
According to him, the Olympic Games program includes 41 Olympics, 9 non-Olympic sports. In general the sportsmen will compete in 50 sports for 437 sets of medals.
In addition, athletes of the Kazakhstan’s teams who participated in the 5 Summer Asian Games since 1994 have won 113 gold medals.
The 2014 Incheon Asian Games set to take place on September 19 - October 4 in Incheon, Korea.
