Talks on Kazakhstan-EU expanded partnership agreement can be completed this autumn
Following the seventh round of talks on the new draft agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov noted with satisfaction that thanks to the high level of understanding between the negotiating teams the last round was the most successful. Agreement was reached on almost all the provisions of the document. This will enable to complete the negotiation process this autumn.
On July 10, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan held meetings with Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan Aurelia Bouchez, German Ambassador to Kazakhstan Guido Hertz, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan Harry Putker. The results of the seventh round of negotiations on the draft agreement, which took place June 30 - July 1, 2014 in Brussels, were discussed at the meetings.
The minister also stressed the importance of visa facilitation with the EU countries for Kazakhstan. As is known, from July 15, 2014 Kazakhstan unilaterally introduces visa-free regime for one year for citizens of the ten countries that are major investors in the economy.
