School competition within "Reading Abay’s woks in three languages" project held in Pavlodar
During two days the students competed in the knowledge of the great Abay’s works in three languages - Kazakh, Russian and English, nurotan.kz reports
The competition was initiated by the Chairperson of the "Bes asyl" Fund Lyazzat Askarova and sponsored by the participant of the party project "50 Persons of the Party", member of the regional maslikhat, Gulmira Nurkhanova.
About 90 children of the region took part in the project implemented with the support of the "Nur Otan" party.
"I have been working with gifted students for many years. I notice those children who study abroad are not able to convey to foreigners the unique Kazakh culture, our national values. So we decided to introduce the study of Abay’s works in English to fill this gap. Because reading of Abay's works is the way to learn the Kazakh culture, and we intend to continue supporting this project," Lyazzat Askarova said.
The results of the intellectual competition will be announced on the eve of the great Abay’s birthday at the regional polylingual intellectual Olympiad.
The winners will go on an educational excursion to the poet’s homeland.
