Kazakhstan & Israel signed MoU on cooperation in water sphere

Minster of Environment and Water Resources of Kazakhstan Nurlan Kapparov and general Director of Mecorot national water company of Israel Shimon Ben-Hamo signed Memorandum on cooperation in Kazakhstani water resources’ management.

"Mekorot" company will provide consulting, organizational and technological support. The parties intend to create a training center for Kazakhstani specialists in the field of water management and know-how, the press service of the authority informed.

The Israel water company will assist the establishment of the  Kazakhstani  national water  company. A constant discussion group will be organized for discussion of joint activities and projects, exchange of information and ideas, carrying out technical courses, seminars, conferences, programs and publications.

Mekorot is the national water company of Israel and the country's top agency for water management. Founded in 1937, it supplies Israel with 90% of its drinking water and operates a cross-country water supply network known as the National Water Carrier. Mekorot and its subsidiaries have partnered with numerous countries around the world in areas including desalination and water management.
