Kazakh-Thai cooperation discussed in Astana

Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs Alikhan Baimenov met with Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) of Thailand Mr. Visoot Prasitsiriwongse.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Thailand, countries have expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation in the field of public service

Speaking during the negotiations the head of Thailand OCSC said a lot of world countries, including Thailand are interested in the Kazakhstan’ civil service reforming,” Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs Alikhan Baimenov informed.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan is interested specificity and remuneration system, and social support of public servants.

"Thailand has its own specifics and their wage system, the Thai social support system of civil servants involvement of the private sector is interesting for us," A. Baymenov said.

In turn, the Thai side is interested in the establishment of the "A" corps in the Kazakh public service system.

The OCSC acts as a secretariat to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and as a central human resource management agency in the government service, supporting government agencies and provinces in human resource management and merit system protection. Its main purpose is to enhance work quality, working environment and better quality of life of government officials. It also focuses on professional performance based upon the principles of merit, ethics and good governance for the public benefits and sustainable development of the country.
