Relay race devoted to Day of Capital took place in Karaganda

This day, there were a mass sprint, relay of cities and regions, sporting events, the official website of the Agency for Sports and Physical Culture reported.

Head of Karaganda region Nurmukhambet Abdibekov, Olympic champion Serik Sapiev, silver medalist of the "Kazakhstan Barys" Asylkhan Barmenov participated in the solemn meeting at the Independence Square.

“Sagan Astana” relay’s emblem with a lot of colourful ballon was launched in the sky. About 5 thousand participants including children, youth, disabled athletes, cyclists, public servants and all Karaganda wishing to participate in this day of action came to start line.

16 teams took part in the relay between cities and regions.

Also on this day there were competitions between the contemporaries of  Astana city.
