Entry into GRECO expand international cooperation in combating corruption - Y.Tuyakbaev
"Kazakhstan is working closely with the competent authorities of foreign countries on the basis of international agreements in the field of combating corruption and is currently signed more than 20 agreements with such countries as France, Turkey, China, Italy, Poland, Romania, Croatia, etc. In addition, Kazakhstan is a member of anti-corruption agencies in (IACCA, Beijing), the Istanbul plan of Action against corruption of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD, Paris) International Anti-Corruption Academy (Austria), the Coordinating Council of Tax (financial ) investigations of CIS countries and the Interstate Council of the CIS anti-corruption," Y.Tuyakbaev.
He noted that the Agency intends to continue participate actively in the international arena and to represent the interests of the state, to expand and strengthen existing international links with the competent authorities of foreign states and international organizations in order to ensure economic security and fighting corruption. One of the priorities in international cooperation is Kazakhstan's accession to the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO).
"The result of our collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the scale and painstaking work to promote Kazakhstan's bid for membership in the Council of Europe Convention "On the Criminal Law" and "Civil Law Convention on Corruption" was the acquisition in December 2013 by the Republic of Kazakhstan invitation from the Council Europe to join the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). Kazakhstan's accession to GRECO will facilitate the accession of our country to the Council of Europe, improvement of national legislation in the field of anti-corruption, and expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation with law enforcement agencies of foreign countries," he stressed.
