Kazakhstan & US talked over nuclear power and safety
The meeting was focused on positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation development in nuclear safety and nuclear power, according to the authority.
During the meeting they discussed the main issues and results of conversion of research reactors RSE "Institute of Nuclear Physics" and «National Nuclear Center of Kazakhstan"; to create a training center for nuclear security on the basis of RSE "Institute of Nuclear Physics"; to establish an international bank of low-enriched uranium at the premises of "UMZ" JSC; on nuclear regulation in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, these collaborations were noted in the Joint Statement of the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States on cooperation in the sphere of non-proliferation and to strengthen nuclear safety at the Nuclear Security Summit in March 2014.
