Senate ratifies deal with Russia on oil export to China via Kazakhstan

The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan has ratified today the agreement with Russia on oil transportation to China via the territory of Kazakhstan.

The  agreement will allow Russia to export its oil to China via the territory of Kazakhstan, the  relevant committee reported

Russia will export oil in the amount of 7 million tons a year with the possibility to increase the volume up to 10 million tons per year and to provide access for the system of pipelines of Omsk (Russia) - Priirtyshsk (Kazakhstan) - Atasu (Kazakhstan) - Alashankou (China). Russia will pay Kazakhstan for the deal in the U.S. dollars per ton of oil transported.

The Russian oil will be transported to China on the Omsk - Irtysh - Pavlodar - Atasu pipeline.

The agreement was singed December 24, 2013 in Moscow.
