"In 2014 it is planned to complete the construction on the sections of the transport corridor from Shymkent to the borders of the Russian Federation and via the territory of Zhambyl region," the Minister noted.
In addition, according to him, it is planned to hold reconstruction of some sections of the republican highways.
"This year we plan to start reconstruction of Astana-Temirtau and Almaty-Kapshagay sections and complete it until 2016. Major work is being done on the section Astana-Pavlodar. It will be finished in the first half of 2017," Mr. Kassymbek said.
Also, the reconstruction of the Center-East route is underway, in particular Semey-Kalbatau section. Construction of 76 kilometres of 129 kilometers of this road will be completed this year," the speaker added.
Works are also underway on a 298-kilometers Beineu-Shetpe section of the Center-West route. In addition, in July this year it is planned to begin works on Shetpe-Aktau section (170 km). Full completion of the work on these sections is planned for 2016.
