Kazcosmos to establish space technologies engineering bureau by 2015
"A special space technologies design engineering bureau with pilot production will be founded as part of the Astana assembly and test centre," chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan Talgat Mussabayev said.
"Kazcosmos and its French partner, Airbus Defence and Space, create now another strategic location, the spacecraft assembly and test complex in Astana.
The complex will become one of the largest facilities of Kazakhstan's space infrastructure. In plain language, it will be a large up-to-date plant to design, assemble, and test satellites of different applications.
Besides, it will include a special space technologies design engineering bureau with pilot production unit. Its in-service date is set for 2015," he stressed.
Construction and assembling operations of the complex will come to an end soon.
According to him, the complex will help Kazakhstan enter the world-wide market of spacecraft design and production services.
