Meeting of Public Comission for awards in mass media held in Astana
The meeting was attended by the members of the commission, representatives of national media, creative unions, associations of journalists and concerned governmental authorities.
Participants agreed on the important role of the media in strengthening the statehood of Kazakhstan. This year, the Public commission received 57 submissions including 48 related to journalists and 9 - to creative teams.
Following the discussion, the Public commission unanimously decided to recommend the Head of State to award two prizes and two grants to the media and award a commendation of the President of Kazakhstan to four creative teams.
The President's grants in the mass media sphere are bestowed to journalists and groups of journalist in order to stimulate their professional development and promote development of Kazakhstani journalism.
