Zhenis Kassymbek on prospects in development of motor roads in W Kazakhstan
In particular, head of MTC pointed out that in the period since 2002, two bridge crossings were built over Ural river in Uralsk and Kigach river in Atyrau region at the border of Russia, and also 2 235 km nation-wide roads were reconstructed, including Atyrau – Uralsk (487 km), Aktobe – border of Kostanai region (231 km), Atyrau – Dossor - Beineu (426 km), sections of Western Europe – Western China corridor in Aktobe region, including Northern bypass of Aktobe city, and also Aktobe – Uralsk road (397 km). In addition, the capital repair was performed of 97 km of Chapayev – Zhalpaktal section and 59 km of Aktobe – Atyrau – Astrakhan road.
Along with that, it was mentioned that this year, the reconstruction is to be accomplished on 65 km of Aktobe – Uralsk section and the traffic is to be opened on 240 km of Beineu – Shetpe section. Mintranscom is planning to start in July this year the reconstruction of Shetpe – Aktau (170 km). And in 2015, through the funds saved from the loan for Beineu – Aktau, it is planned to start reconstruction of Zhetybai – Zhanaozen road.
As to other nation-wide roads in the region, the capital repair covers currently 60 km of Chapayev – Zhalpaktal section in West Kazakhstan region, 19 km of Atyrau – Aktobe road in Atyrau region, and 59 km of Aktau - Kuryk in Mangistau region. Additionally, this year the capital repair of 20 km of Zhanybak – Kaztalovka road will start and 17 km of Dossor – Makat section in Atyrau region. In parallel with that, for support to the nationwide-status roads of West Kazakhstan region, the medium repair of 317 km roads is contemplated,
In addition, it is planned to start this year the development of design & estimate documentation for reconstruction of Aktobe – Atyrau – Astrakhan road.
Minister also reminded that, in accordance with National Program for Development and Integration of Transport System Infrastructure towards 2020 (NPDITSI) approved by Head of State this year, it is planned to perform capital repair of 1 thousand km roads and to reconstruct the nation-wide status roads:
Aktobe – Atyrau – Astrakhan, Beineu – Aktau, Zhetybai – Zhanaozen – border of Turkmenistan, Beineu – Akzhigit – border of Uzbekistan, Uralsk – Kamenka – border of RF, and Zhympity – Chapayevo with total mileage of 1/3 thousand km.
