Kazakhstan and Korea intend to set up joint ICT research center

In accordance with the memorandum of promoting cooperation in the field of ICT that has been signed today by the heads of the National Information and Communication Holding "Zerde" and the National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan and Korea will set up a center of ICT research and cooperation development.

The center will focus on conducting joint research and studies on the "cloud" technology, big data technologies, "electronic government" and other areas of ICT of mutual interest.

"South Korea is the model and ideal of the information society for us. We are strengthening our relationship more closely today. The memorandum will promote the development of e-government and big data. We would also like to express gratitude to South Korea that has given us the baton to conduct the Global E-Government Forum in Astana this October. We look forward to your active participation in this forum and fruitful cooperation," Chairman of the National Holding "Zerde" Mirbolat Ayupov said after signing the document, according to Kazakh PM's official website. 

The memorandum was signed during the official visit of President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye to Kazakhstan. The document will promote cooperation in the field of new technologies, promote social and economic development through the ICT integration by qualified personnel and exchange of information.
