Reconstruction of Kordai checkpoint to be completed before yearend
Reconstruction of Kordai border checkpoint on the border with Kyrgyzstan in Zhambyl region continues. Next year, the capacity of Kordai will increase to 2500 cars and 23 thousand people per day, Strategy2050.kz reports.
The project provides a large-scale reconstruction of the existing carriageway with a length of 137 meters with 8 lanes, checkpoints, a border guard building and other adjacent facilities.
In addition, this year, specialists will have to complete the construction of a new inspection complex for quick inspection. To date, all the necessary equipment and building materials have been mobilized. In the implementation of the facility involved 127 people and 15 pieces of equipment. The reconstruction area of the facility is 3.5 ha.
The general contractor of the project is Dorstroy LLP. Technical supervision is carried out by Almaty Sapa Engineering LLP. The author of the project is Sintez LLP.
In the midst of the road-building season, Kordai checkpoint operates only for pedestrians from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. Passage of vehicles is carried out through nearby points Karasu, Sortobe and Aukhatty. Access roads to the checkpoints are in good condition. Work is scheduled to be completed before the end of this year.
