During the phytosanitary control, the capital state plant quarantine inspector revealed a large consignment of tangerines from Georgia infected with Comstock's mealybug, Strategy2050.kz reports.
To prevent the spread of the quarantine pest, the inspector seized 1 210 kg of infected tangerines. Dangerous fruits were burned on the territory of the ecological polygon.
In addition, an administrative case was instituted on the fact and a court decision imposed a fine of 53,025 tenge.
