Gold extraction plant to be constructed in Kazakhstan’s Zhitikara
Construction of gold extraction plant is planned in the single-industry town of Zhitikara in Kostanay region, the mayor of Zhitikara area Kuandyk Ispergenov said.
"One of the main objectives of the city development is economy diversification, development of small and medium business. Considering the positive natural and resource factors connected with mineral deposits existence, stable work of the only city-forming enterprise JSC Kostanayskiye mineraly, dynamically developing sector of small and medium business of the city, construction of gold extraction factory on processing of the 750 thousand tons of sulphidic ore a year (GRK Tokhtar LLP) is planned. This project is approved as a key one. It is planned also the creation of more than 3,000 workplaces," he said.
According to him, besides the next years events for construction of plant for gold extraction are planned on a Komarovsky field.
"The cost of the project is 8 738,9 million tenge, processing of 2,2 million tons of gold-containing ore a year, with release of 2,5 to 3,0 tons of gold a year. Creation of 40 workplaces is planned. The applicant of the project is Metal Trading LLP. As there is a project on construction of concentrating factory on processing of 2,5 million tons of ores of rare-earth metals a year - GRK Kundybay LLP, creation of 90 workplaces is predicted,” K.Ispergenov said.
