Within the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital on July 10-12, 2018 Astana will host a number of large-scale events under the general slogan "Media Dialogue of Asia". Seminars, conferences, as well as the Asian Radio Song Festival will be held within these days. Read more about this in the “Strategy2050.kz” Information Agency’s material.
The Ministry of Information and Communication of Kazakhstan, the ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) and "Kazmedia Ortalygy" will be the organizers of the events. "Astana Convention Bureau" LLP will be a co-organizer.
"Kazakhstan will gather outstanding media representatives from around the world, thereby manifesting itself as an important communication hub between Europe and Asia. Leaders of influential media non-governmental institutions, among them the general secretaries of ABU and COPEAM, as well as broadcasters from Asia and Europe, including radio “Radio of India”, the radio with the largest audience of listeners in the world, will become the most important guests of the event. Thus, activities on the ABU line will become the most important image projects aimed at developing event tourism in Kazakhstan", Minister of Information and Communication Dauren Abayev said during a press conference in the Central Communication Service.
ABU is the largest non-profit professional association uniting 292 broadcasting organizations from 69 countries in Asia and Oceania - the largest and most populous region in the world, potentially covering an audience of about 3 billion people.
"Cooperation with such an authoritative organization that contributes to strengthening the regional and international commonwealth of broadcasters and promoting their interests will allow Kazakhstan to raise the quality level of its own product and adopt the world experience in the production of programs and the exchange of news", D. Abayev said.
According to the organizers, the agenda for media managers will include issues related to creating a radio format from scratch, assessing the audience and its research tools, using multiplatform and one-platform programs to convey content to various audiences with demonstration of interactive examples and best practices of the European and Asian media markets.
"For the first time the largest industry conferences will be held in Kazakhstan, one of which is devoted to radio of Asia. In order to discuss issues common to media in Asia and Europe, the final event will be the "Media-2020" conference. The moderators will be leading representatives of private and national TV and radio companies from Australia, Belgium, Germany, Japan, China and other countries in Europe and Asia", the Minister added.
More than 150 delegates from 40 countries of Europe and Asia will take part in the international forum "Media Dialogue of Asia", which tomorrow will begin its work in Astana.
A special gift from ABU for residents of the capital in honor of the anniversary of Astana will be the song festival “ABU Radio Song Festival”, which is the annual song contest of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, similar to the Eurovision song contest.
This year, Kazakhstan will be the first country to host a festival in Central Asia. Representatives of the cultures of such countries as Turkey, Nepal, Maldives and Kazakhstan will take part in the competition.
