"Many exhibitions after their holding usually turn into commercial facilities or been demounted. For example, the last exhibition in Milan. We also had a beautiful pavilion there, and we demounted it. That is, they allocated areas, and after the completion they demounted. Prior to this, there were EXPOs, where all facilities were transferred to commercial ones. The idea of our President is that the exhibition should be aimed at the future. This is an investment in the future, a direction for the development of future capital. The concept developed and approved by our President after the exhibition use of facilities is a vivid evidence of this", Akhmetzhan Yessimov said.
The next facilities as “Nur Alem”, the Energy Hall, the best practices zone, the art-center, the Congress-center and commercial pavilions were decided to be kept as part of exhibition’s heritage.
"Tomorrow, all these facilities begin to operate in full mode. As well known, the main attraction of the exhibition was the national pavilion "Nur Alem". The unique, completely glass building with a spherical shape of 100 meters in height is the only one in the world. This facility became the most popular, it was visited by more than 1 million 300 thousand people. "Nur Alem" will function now in a regular basis as a museum of future energy, which will acquaint visitors with various sources of renewable energies. I am convinced that our "Nur Alem" will become the same iconic facility as the Eiffel Tower in Paris or "Atomium" in Brussels", the Head of “Astana EXPO-2017” stressed.
Also, 24 world advanced projects in the field of renewable energy from 13 countries of the world are presented in the best practices zone. The art-center will continue its work as a center of modern art, as well as an educational center for children.
“The Congress center was among cultural facilities of the EXPO which continued operating held many significant events. Various restaurants and food-courts will operate fir the convenient of visitors”, A.Yessimov said.
He also added, it is planned to launch an ice-court with necessary infrastructure to provide services. The construction of an ice-city, an ice-maze and placement of a main New-Year’s tree are planned by the Mayor’s Office
