As the regional Governor’s Office reported, the sides discussed the mechanism of interaction and cooperation, exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations.
Zh. Tuimebaev noted that he considers Germany to be a political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in Europe and expressed interest in developing cooperation relations.
Also, the Governor of the region stressed that for 9 months of this year the trade turnover between South Kazakhstan region and Germany reached 30 million dollars, and imports amounted to 27 million dollars.
"Germany is Kazakhstan's main trading partner. We are ready to create all opportunities for opening joint enterprises, if German investors intend to bring new technologies. For today favorable conditions for investors are created in our region. Geographically advantageous location of South-Kazakhstan region creates favorable conditions for attracting investments to the region. In this regard, I want to inform you of our interest in implementing original projects with German entrepreneurs. Therefore, I call on Germany to work together in various spheres of the economy", Zh. Tuimebayev said.
In turn, the German Ambassador said that South Kazakhstan region aroused interest among the countries of the European Union as an economic region.
"This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal Republic of Germany. Today we witnessed the achievement of a high level of development of Kazakhstani-German relations. I want to note that South Kazakhstan region makes a great contribution to enhancing cooperation between the two countries. As the region is agrarian, in the near future we will make every effort to enhance cooperation in the field of culture, education, health", Rolf Mafael said.
We note that currently a number of industrial enterprises with the participation of colleagues from Germany operate in South-Kazakhstan region.
During the meeting, the Governor of the region underlined that, within the framework of the program of the Head of State "The Course towards Future: Modernization of Public Conscience", special attention is paid to the development of tourism in the region.
In addition, the Governor of the region dwelt on the spiritual connection between Goethe, a great German poet, and Abai Qunanbaiuly, an outstanding writer of the Kazakh people.
At the same time, the Governor informed the guests that in the near future, in order to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries, a park named after Goethe will be built in Shymkent.
