"We studied the world experience, looked at how megacities are developing, and analyzed their economic structure. And taking into account the existing advantages, we identified 10 priority sectors that will ensure sustainable economic growth - 5 tradable ones: tourism, development, modern production, financial center, services for the public sector, international organizations and TNCs; and 5 supporting sectors: education, healthcare, trade and logistics, culture and sports, creative sectors", A. Issekeshev said.
Sectoral development strategies are being developed for each of the sectors in the Governor’s Office. For example, tourism has already identified three main areas - MICE tourism (business and event), urban recreational and medical tourism.
According to the Mayor’s Office of Astana, strategies will be presented to the NCE “Atameken” and to the industrial companies in October.

The five following local programs Astana Business, Astana-ZhasStarT, Astana Service, Astana Retail, Astana Startup are implemented to successfully implement 10 priority sectors and develop mass entrepreneurship in Astana.
The programs are aimed at upgrading fixed assets and expanding production, replenishing working capital, acquiring a franchise, developing catering points, the trade sector, supporting youth and women's entrepreneurship.
In total, 116 projects were supported by local programs for a total of 6 billion tenge. As a result, about 1000 jobs were created and 350 were remained.
