N.Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan and China have a special partnership model

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with First Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Gaoli, Akorda’s press-service reported.

Opening the meeting, the Head of State greeted the first vice-premier of the State Council of China, having noted the high level of bilateral cooperation.

"A special partnership model exists between Kazakhstan and China. We cooperate in the energy and other spheres", the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping for the invitation to the international forum "One Belt - One Way" and expressed his readiness to participate in this event.

"We have a lot of upcoming joint work. During my visit to Beijing, as part of "One Belt - One Way" forum, we will discuss in detail the interface of "Nurly Zhol" and the "Economic belt of the Silk Road" programs", the Head of State said.

In his turn, Zhang Gaoli conveyed the words of the greetings of President Xi Jinping to the President of Kazakhstan and noted the achievement of new agreements within the framework of the meeting of the Cooperation Committee.

"The President of China plans to visit Kazakhstan in June this year to participate in the opening of the world exhibition "EXPO-2017" and the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Under your faithful leadership in Kazakhstan, the dynamics of economic development are preserved, social stability is observed and the well-being of the population is increasing. The authority of Kazakhstan is growing in the international arena", Zhang Gaoli said.

The Vice Premier of China expressed support for the ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan, stressing the importance of the recently announced initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev to modernize the public consciousness.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan thanked the leadership of China for supporting the ongoing reforms in the country and expressed hope for strengthening of trade and economic relations between two countries.
