Today I will sign the Law "On introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan". It is of paramount importance for the country. The current reform is a natural result of the development of our state. We are a young country building its statehood. We need to meet the requirements of the changing world, both in the economy and in politics.
A number of powers of the President are delegated to other branches of government. The Government will strengthen its independence and responsibility for the decisions made. The Parliament will receive new powers to monitor the activities of the Government and the executive bodies. The guarantees of the inviolability of the constitutional order, sovereignty and independence of our country will be strengthened.
The political system will acquire a greater degree of democracy and stability. At the same time, the presidential form of government remains the basic form of Kazakhstan. When discussing the draft law, the public voiced its concerns about the weakening of the presidential power. Everyone is concerned about the integrity of our country, the stability of the state, the unity and friendship of the people. The power will become more balanced, flexible and effective. The adopted changes are systemic in nature; they received the wide public resonance and approval.
I express my sincere gratitude and gratitude to the members of the Working group, the deputies of the Parliament and all Kazakhstanis for their support and invaluable contribution to the implementation of the constitutional reform. I also appreciate the fact that the people's representatives proposed to mark my work for the good of the Motherland with a special amendment to the Constitution. This stimulates, inspires confidence and strength for further reforms in the interests of our people.
The rapid technological revolution in the modern world is shaping a new reality in the global economy, as was stated in the Address. The updated Constitution is our answer to the challenges of the times. To achieve the strategic purpose - country's entry into the list of 30 developed countries of the world, it is important for all citizens of Kazakhstan to unite their efforts.
I am sure that together we will be able to ensure the successful development of the state and the prosperity of our people in the 21st century. This is the main purpose of the reforms - to preserve our unity, friendship, mutual understanding, equality of citizens in terms of ethnic, linguistic and confessional principles. Thanks to this cohesion we have repeatedly won. Following these postulates we will achieve new victories.
I congratulate all Kazakhstanis on the adoption of the amendments to the Basic Law opening a new stage in our sovereign political history", the statement reads.
