In 2016, more than 300 events on trade-economic and investment topics, including different road shows, days of the economy, business forums, round tables, investment presentations and others were held with participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrissov.
In addition, in 2016, a series of business forums was organized to develop trade and economic cooperation.
There was a Kazakh-Russian business forum with the participation of Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin, more than 1,300 participants from government agencies, quasi-public and largest private companies in Kazakhstan and Russia. Currently, 6453 companies with Russian participation are successfully operating in Kazakhstan in such sectors as oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, communications, engineering, space cooperation, peaceful use of nuclear energy. The forum signed 56 bilateral agreements totaling approximately $ 3 billion.
The Kazakh-Hungarian business forum gathered representatives of Hungarian companies from pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, agriculture, engineering, food processing, logistics, ICT and other industries..
Also, there was the Astana Kazakh-Czech and Kazakh-Serbian business forums. In addition, such forums were held in the Netherlands, Japan and Korea. All this contributes to the expansion of mutually beneficial relations.
By the way, in 2016, more than 600 visits of representatives of business and economic circles of foreign countries in Kazakhstan, ours in foreign countries were made. The cooperation with international financial institutions was expanded. The focus was on the implementation of major infrastructure projects. These partners are the World Bank Group, IMF, EBRD, ADB, IDB, ABII. Over the year, more than 30 international agreements were signed.
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted in 2016 the efforts to expand coverage of our citizens by consular protection were intensified. Currently, there are 92 consular agencies in 67 countries.
