"41.7 thousand active small and medium-sized businesses operate in the region today. This is by 18% more than at the same period last year. This is the 8th place among the regions of the country. The number of people employed in this area grows as well. The increase is nearly 7 percent, about 141 thousand people," she said.
According to her, small and medium enterprises produced goods for 130.4 billion tenge.
"The share of employment in small and medium-sized businesses was 16% of the total population, and 26.3% of the economically active population. Branches of the second tier banks granted loans to small businesses totaling 17.2 billion tenge, which is 63.6% more than at the corresponding period last year. Rural credit partnerships granted loans amounting to more than 1 billion tenge," Kislenkova concluded.
